In this role, you will manage and maintain HR data integrity, oversee payroll and compliance specifically for our Portuguese operations, and act as the primary HR contact for employees in Portugal. You will contribute to process improvements, ensure adherence to local labor laws, and support various HR projects that drive operational excellence across the organization.If you’re passionate about HR operations and ready to make an impact within a global team, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Tasks

  • Contribute to the global HR Operations team by ensuring high performance, clear communication, and adherence to SLAs while supporting efficient and accurate data management.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in current HR Ops practices and suggesting process enhancements based on market best practices.
  • Own and manage the organizational HRIS, ensuring timely updates, data accuracy, and system integrity, while supporting change initiatives when needed.
  • Maintain employee records and process data updates; generate both scheduled and ad-hoc reports to provide insights and support decision-making.
Payroll & Benefits
  • Direct Responsible for Portuguese payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local labor laws and regulations
  • Coordinate with finance for budget, headcount, other reporting responsibilities
  • Support the HR Ops Manager and/or VP of HR in coordinating with external vendors (e.g. payroll, insurance, tax/social security) and government authorities, both locally and in other hubs when required, to ensure legal and procedural compliance.
Compliance & Audits
  • Ensure HR processes comply with Portuguese employment/ labour law.
  • Audit existing policies, processes & guidelines and support in implementing change where required, while maintaining alignment with Manager HR Ops/ VP HR
  • Conduct/ be a part of regular internal HR audits to identify risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes and recommend necessary updates to keep operations compliant, both locally and across other hubs where applicable.


Local HR Coordination (Portugal)
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for Portuguese employees, addressing queries and supporting local HR matters in line with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Communicate HR policies and procedures, adapting global practices to meet local legal and cultural needs while maintaining compliance with Portuguese legislation.

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in (and/ or lead in some specific cases) and coordinate HR projects (e.g., evaluation of new tools/ systems, system upgrades, migration, process improvements, policy rollouts). 
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation and market best practices to enhance HR operations efficiency.
  • Support in creating and/or monitoring HR metrics and KPIs, and prepare regular or ad-hoc reports for management and senior leadership.

You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree ideally in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  •  2+ years in HR operations in a global environment
  • Technical knowledge and experience with maintaining and managing HRIS (Personio/ Workday/ SAP/ Peoplesoft/ HiBob, etc), payroll systems and data analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, audits (e.g. TISAX, ISO, SOX), etc. ideally (not mandatorily) at an international level and specifically on Portuguese labor law.
  • Experience supporting HR operations, including Payroll, understanding of Labour Laws from a European context and related topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR projects and drive/ work in topics around continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages such as Portuguese/ Czech/ Danish/ German are advantageous but not mandatory)
