This role in a nutshell:You'll technically lead a squad that deeply understands and executes across colleague needs, product analytics, financial targets and external industry innovation to drive strategy and operations for workforce identity platforms. Working with a squad of specialists and engineers who work on identity workflow and integration development and configuration is aligned with the digital experience requirements of over 10,000 people delivering Plan Zero.
Your key outcomes will be:- Build a deep understanding of current and future internal stakeholder needs.
- Own the approach for how to enable all internal stakeholders to leverage digital workforce and non human identity capabilities.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for workforce IAM across the full lifecycle of digital experience keeping in line with security requirements.
- Lead a cross-functional squad of engineering and tooling specialist colleagues.
- Implement and contribute to the guardrails (especially security) in our digital experience platforms
- Champion technical standards and contribute to security standards to achieve a balance of user facing and non user facing improvements that enhance stability, efficiency and reduce risk.
- Identify opportunities for the highest leverage improvements for all stakeholders.
- Collaborate across OVOTech teams and internal stakeholders to make build vs buy recommendations for relevant parts of our digital experience.
- Partner with enablement squads across OVO to identify and leverage common building blocks.
- Determine if and how to integrate digital experience capabilities into other internal applications as needed.
Advanced experience with:
- Workforce identity platform - Okta. Developer, consultant, administrator and workflow certification
- Good understanding on Google identity
- Familiarity with Azure AD/Entra and other IDPs
- Must have done at least one greenfield implementation of Okta workforce identity cloud
Familiarity with the following technologies and principles:
- Slack
- Microsoft Office
- Mobile device management (Google, Mosyle and Intune)
- Remote device management
- SAAS observability and control
- Other collaboration tools
- Communicate - clear and direct written and verbal communication is a must for any leader at OVO. A leader of this squad will be able to take technical concepts and reframe them so that different audiences can understand them.

- Bring tools and enablement experience - you will improve digital workforce identity to meet internal demand as well as build for the right end-user experience. You will bring a strong understanding of technical systems & identity platforms (particularlyOkta and google) and have experience building and maintaining tools for internal users that have a customer-centric objective.
- Build culture - you will shape a positive culture and agile mindset within the team: an inclusive environment that engages in productive debate, rewards curiosity in understanding the business problems we’re trying to solve, and reinforces accountability to outcomes.
We’ll pay you between £71,240 and £102,584, depending on your specific skills and experience.
We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.
You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
