Location: Erlanger, KY site (Homebase)

 

As a part of the Wayfair Industrial Engineering team, you will identify and implement projects to enhance Wayfairs ability to deliver a perfect order at scale. You will support the update and design of building layouts, to ensure drawings are up to date. Create new layouts and design to fit conveyors/shelving/work stations and partner with operations teams. Support the development of RFP’s as needed, perform ROI Analysis and Procurement for various supply chain solutions including hardware, software, & supporting technology.

What You’ll Do 

Must Have

  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Warehouse general understanding and some of the equipment used
  • Communication skills to provide engineering support for process improvement initiatives with site leadership
  • Able to manage vendors in the design process and proposal deliveries i.e. timeline of project and delivery of proposals
  • Space planning and layout design proficiency (AutoCad)
  • Able to discuss and show Return on Investment (Capital vs labor savings)
  • Ability to communicate with Vendors and communicate in meetings internally and externally
  • Travel – 20/30%

Nice to Have

  • Lead implementation of material handling systems that enable capacity and productivity improvements
  • Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (conveyors, sortation, robotics)
  • Provides change management guidance, assists with process and equipment validation including but not limited to development, training, documentation and reporting
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques (SQL)and distribution/conveyor systems
  • Knowledge of 3d drawing capabilities (demo 3D, google sketchup)
  • Knowledge of Racking design and process knowledge for Distribution 

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field 
  • 3+ years of experience or technical background of Warehouse Management Systems in including conveyor design and implementation along with Outbound understanding
  • Ability to effectively communicate with business partners both local and remote
  • Detail oriented, proactive, with strong analytical and organizational skills 
  • Excellent time management and multi­tasking skills
  • Proficient with AutoCad
