The Industry and Billing teams form the backbone of an energy supplier, making them work in a streamlined way allows space for optimisation of new products and services which support our plan zero goals
This role in a nutshell:
The Energy Industry is a fairly regulated space and it’s essential that we remain compliant with Industry codes and regulations. The Industry Codes coordinator ensures that all levels of Energy Ops, and to a lesser extent the wider business, are aware of, and take into account, relevant rules and guidelines in relevant. This role helps provides clear guidance, updates on industry responsibilities, and key changes, as well as helping to influence Industry to work through regulatory roadblocks.
Engagement with external code bodies is a key part of the role, allowing the candidate to, form strong, transparent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure that OVO is kept informed of all developments and retains its reputation as a business that works in the right way.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Monitoring compliance for regulatory codes within Energy Operations Workstreams.
- Contract/Code engagement for key industry codes (REC, BSC, DCUSA, UNC, Xoserve, etc.) including being an escalation point for OVO with other suppliers.
- Keeping on top of regulated industry developments and keeping the business informed.
- Responding to internal regulation queries from all levels of business.
- Guiding Ops on compliance of decisions and options for key initiatives and problem fixes.
- Acting as a point of liaison between Ops and internal compliance team.
- Summarising consultation documents which will have an impact on the business and drafting responses as required.
- Owning responsibility for gathering internal consensus on, completion and submission of key RFIs, impact assessments, and consultations which require interdepartmental coordination and/or contain risk.
- Provide regulatory codes' expertise to support key projects within Energy Operations.
- Leading on OVO’s regulatory approach to the Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement (MWHHS) programme including ongoing qualification requirements.
Within your first few months' month you’ll:
- Build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Understand how we operate and the impacts of the regulatory landscape
- Get to grips with our wider regulatory programmes such as MHHS
- Build relationships with our internal compliance teams

We’ll pay you between £35,000 and £40,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.
