About the Role

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of all existing and future network infrastructure at our offices, distribution centers and last mile hubs across Canada.

Based in our Toronto office, you will ensure alignment of all IT infrastructure aspects at these sites in accordance with a globally unified approach. We are looking for a self-motivated and communicative person who thrives in a fast paced environment with constant change and wants to be part of one of the most rapidly growing food companies.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer and Global Team Lead (Berlin) as well as the Senior Manager, Information Technology (Canada), you will be an essential part of our Network Operations Center by also providing remote support to Asia Pacific and Europe.

 

You will:

  • Be an IT Infrastructure Engineer who is a go getter and willing to travel, learn and work at various locations as required, performing work outside of critical operations hours for the business
  • Become the point of contact and subject matter expert for all infrastructure and warehouse management applications, primarily for Canadian distribution centers
  • Supporting existing and new operations in Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto
  • Be responsible for various tasks such as provisioning, patching, upgrades, repairs or RMA for all infrastructure support devices
  • Be responsible for Incident Response & Management from start to finish including RCA
  • Be a coach and mentor for the Infrastructure Analyst who you will have a close working relationship with

 

At a minimum, you have: 

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Network Engineering, Design & Management
  • Experience managing LAN, WAN and WLAN infrastructures
  • Thorough understanding of IPv4/IPv6 networks and routing
  • Experience and knowledge of maintaining Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks
  • Understanding of the OSI model
  • Knowledge of Cisco Enterprise and Meraki switches, routers and firewalls or similar devices
  • Working knowledge of site-to-site VPN connections using IPSec and IKE protocols
  • Knowledge of enterprise WLANs e.g. Cisco Mobility (WLC), Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet, Arista, Ubiquiti etc.
  • Familiarity with LogicMonitor or similar network monitoring and alerting tools
  • Experience or knowledge of Wireless Heat Mapping with ekahau or similar technologies is an added bonus
  • Understand network layer high availability and resiliency technologies such as HSDPA
  • Exposure to warehouse inventory or management applications, such as MatFlo, WMS lite, WAMAS, HighJump, etc.
  • Exposure to Zebra, Motorola, Honeywell, or Symbol handheld scanners, mobile or enterprise thermal printers.
  • PC Windows and macOS skills with experience of supporting end users
  • Understanding of IT Security Principles and Canadian Privacy Principles
  • Azure, AWS VPC or other hosting and virtualization experience is desirable
