Intern – Private Debt Portfolio & Risk Management

Position Overview:
StepStone is a global private markets firm providing customized investment and advisory solutions to some of the most sophisticated investors in the world. With more than $650m billion of total capital allocations, including over 145bn in assets under management, StepStone covers the spectrum of opportunities in private markets across the globe. StepStone Private Debt targets privately negotiated transactions across corporate, real estate and infrastructure debt.
The ideal candidate for this position is an entrepreneurial and detailed-oriented individual with strong communication skills. The candidate should be able to grasp complex situations in a short period of time, have good time management skills and demonstrate ability to prioritize the workload.
The position is an ideal entry point to gain broad experiences in Private Debt and to develop into an asset class expert in different areas of the firm.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist portfolio managers in their daily tasks
- Produce and update portfolio analysis for internal and external usage
- Assist with portfolio and performance analysis
- Assist and perform ad hoc projects and reviews related to client requests
- Assist with various other projects and analyses for the Private Debt team
Qualifications:
- Masters's degree in finance, business or marketing preferred
- Highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast-changing environment, and working independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). VBA knowledge is a plus.
- Good data management and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow in fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Follow-up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail are essential
- Fluent in English (verbal and written), German is a plus
