About the opportunity

SumUp is currently seeking an experienced Analyst, Internal Auditor for our Chile team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of operational, financial, and compliance audits, and will play an integral role in risk management, governance and internal controls within the company. The position reports into the Global Head of Internal Audit. It is crucial to strengthening SumUp's operations in Chile.

What you'll do 

• Manage the internal audit function in Chile, reporting to the Global Head of Internal Audit and the Board of Directors.
• Implement the annual internal audit plan for our companies in the LatAm region and conduct a thorough risk assessment.
• Initiate and conduct operational, financial, fraud and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and organisational processes. Execute tests independently, identifying potential breaches.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present your findings to the Board of Directors, providing independent and objective assurance that SumUp's internal processes are properly designed and operating effectively, and/or recommending improvements where necessary.
• Work closely with various departments and external auditors, fostering a culture of compliance and internal control within the organisation.
• Verify the effectiveness of controls and timely adoption of corrective measures that address weaknesses.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Global Head of Internal Audit.
• Examine compliance with policies and documents related to Internal Controlling, Accounting, and Finance.
• Evaluate information systems supporting proper policy implementation.

You’ll be great for this role if:

• You have proven at least 2 years experience in an internal audit role and are familiar with the Chilean regulatory environment and internal controls.
• You possess strong financial and operational audit skills, along with excellent knowledge of audit standards and risk management.
• You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are a plus.
• You have a strong command of data analytics tools and techniques,
• You showcase communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are a person of high ethical standards and integrity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and drive change.
• You are multilingual, with fluency in both Spanish and English.
• You have strong negotiation skills and a proactive, innovative approach to problem-solving.
