International Ingredient Developer (m/f/x)
The role
From day one you will be responsible for assessing, recommending and developing new ingredients with impact across all international markets, including sensory evaluation. You will partner with Procurement and local Ingredient teams to propose the best international ingredient solutions, for a range of initiatives around innovation, quality improvement and/or ingredient portfolio optimization. What you’ll doThe role will oversee different aspects of ingredient development at HelloFresh, with focus on multimarket ingredients, i.e., ingredients used across markets for a variety of initiatives, including innovation, quality improvement and/or portfolio optimisation
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies for new ingredient launches and/or quality improvements
- Drive portfolio optimization to enhance variety and improve efficiency, collaborating with Procurement and FSQA
- Lead the product workstream in international tenders, applying ingredient development and sensory expertise to set quality standards
- Identify and propose ingredient harmonisation across markets to maximize customer value perception.
- Lead the sensory evaluation (qualitative and quantitative) for international tenders, presenting actionable recommendations
- Lead the product perspective in international tenders, setting ingredient quality goals and identifying opportunities to innovate and raise the bar in terms of quality
- Act as Sensory Subject Matter Expert, owning the technical pieces of work to ensure we deliver sensory evaluation with excellence
- During tenders, lead the strategy for packaging and product attributes to be reinforced through sensory cues or customer messaging (e.g., certifications, origin claims, sustainability labels)
- Drive ingredient harmonisation to improve efficiency of our ingredient basket while enhancing quality perception
- Bachelor in Food science/Product Development or Sensory & Consumer Research, Project management and other related fields
- Strong/proven experience in project management, sensory evaluation and/ or management consulting preferably within Food/ FMCG industries
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, project management & planning skills.
- An organized and clear communicator with experience in managing multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
- A proven innovator with a track record of turning ideas into reality and hungry for further impact
- A track record of driving change in a complex organizational environment
- Passionate about food or relevant experience in quality assurance of ingredients / raw materials and excited by the HelloFresh product
