Specific dutiesDepending on the project, you will need to be comfortable doing the following:
- Assist in creating and improving IT asset management policies, plans, and processes, particularly for new clients.
- Develop, maintain, and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) by creating and managing asset records, Configuration Items (CIs), and their relationships.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of hardware and software assets within the CMDB by retrieving, analysing, and cleaning data from various sources.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure CMDB accuracy, and create reports and dashboards for stakeholders, senior management, and external audits to track performance and compliance.
- Coordinate with various teams and third-party suppliers to manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to disposal, within the CMDB.
- Work with internal and external teams to align asset management with contractual requirements and identify and implement improvements to processes and tools.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and conduct training sessions for other teams to promote best practices for maintaining an accurate CMDB.
- Import clean IT asset / CI data in Hornbill Service Manager CMDB and other ITSM tools ServiceNow, Support works.
OpportunityAs a key member of our team, you'll be the driving force behind the development and maintenance of our clients' Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will ensure the accuracy and quality of configuration data by retrieving, cleaning, and importing information from various sources, while also conducting regular audits and generating reports for stakeholders. The position also requires collaborating with multiple teams to improve asset management processes and ensuring compliance with company policiesABOUT YOUThe ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results while embracing change and uncertainty. - 5+ years of experience in IT asset and configuration management, with a strong understanding of ITSM principles and ITIL certification.
- Expert in designing and managing CMDBs using tools like ServiceNow and Hornbill, and proficient in data manipulation with tools like JSON, CSV, and the Hornbill Asset Import Utility.
- Proven ability to conduct regular audits of the CMDB and analyze data using tools like MS Excel or Power BI to create reports and share findings.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with both technical and non-technical teams, clients, and senior management.
- Experience in developing and implementing IT asset management policies, and a strong understanding of the entire asset lifecycle, including procurement, supplier management, and secure disposal.
