Join us at Ventura TRAVEL – a group of specialized travel brands that unleash the adventurer in every person! As our new Tour Operations Specialist for Japan, you will play an integral role in our common mission: to create and support successful travel brands that change the world for the better.

As our operations specialist for our Japaventura brand, you will be responsible for ensuring that we can deliver exceptional service to our travelers. This includes, for example, booking and handling the necessary, different services that make up our trips (e.g., tour guides, hotels, and transfers), as well as managing relationships with current and new partners in Japan. The Operations team is spread across different offices internationally, and your working language will be English. This job is fully remote, so you can work from Japan or a different Asian location. You will be expected to be in Japan at least once a year for several weeks, especially during high season (March-May and/or September-November).

 On daily basis you will
  • Block and manage reservations for all the services required for the trips under your responsibility. 
  • Check all corresponding invoices and send them for payment to our Finance team. 
  • Be the main contact person for service providers and tour guide for the trips assigned to you. 
  • Negotiate with service providers by ensuring the highest quality standards and competitive provider costs for our growing portfolio of trips in Japan and region.
  • Make decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Find quick and cost-efficient solutions to operational emergencies and support tour guides on the ground.
The basics you bring along
  • You have at least 2+ years of experience in operations.
  • Organized and a great problem-solver, especially during high season and emergencies. 
  • You are tech-savvy, comfortable with, and curious about new technologies.
  • Prior experience working in Japan and/or with Japanese service providers.
  • You are fun to be around—your colleagues will enjoy working with you! 
  • Fluent in English and advanced business proficiency in Japanese. 
You can impress us even more with
  • Prior operational experience in Japan and region.
  • Prior operational experience in the tourism industry.
  • Proficiency in German or French.
