We are now searching for a driven and ambitious Junior Account Manager to join our hotel contracting team in Germany. The role can be based anywhere in Germany, but will require bi-monthly travel to either Berlin or Munich for team meetings. Reporting to the Contracting Team Lead for the DACH region, this person will take responsibility for managing accounts and negotiating contracts for hotel products directly with suppliers in South Germany. This will be an 18 month fixed term contract until the end of 2025.

The Role & what you’ll do

As a Junior Account Manager at Secret Escapes, you will be supporting the Senior Sales Managers in identifying and maintaining business relationships with hotels across your designated region, aiming to drive the commercial growth of the company by securing the best deals for our customers. Initially, you will be taking over the management of some of our smaller accounts, building up experience to expand and manage a wider remit once established in the role.

 

Day to day, you will be:

  • Working with the team to build and develop a portfolio of hotels and products to create a diverse selection across your region and negotiating the best hotel deals to inspire our worldwide members to travel
  • Supporting the sales team in administrative tasks such as preparing offers, handling allocation and pricing requests and requesting images from hotels
  • Nurturing existing relationships with a diverse remit of hotels in the region, from country hotels and spas, to chic boutique city hotels, as well as beach resorts and self-catering apartments
  • Supporting the senior members of the sales team in their commercial decisions involving optimising our customer offering
  • Managing all elements of the contracting process from target identification and initial contact right through to pricing, contract agreement, allocation management and ongoing account management
  • Supporting the sales team in administrative tasks such as preparing offers, handling allocation and pricing request and requesting images from hotels 
  • Reporting, evaluating and implementing suitable sales measures to optimise performance and growth
  • Closely collaborating with other departments – particularly with Operations, Sales Steering & Revenue, Customer Service

You will bring:

  • Ideally some sales or account management experience, with a strong desire to learn and an interest in the travel industry
  • A strong relationship builder and confident communicator
  • Interest in building strategic partnerships with business customers
  • Fluent in German and English
  • A target driven mindset 
  • Proven administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Commercial astute with high numeracy and analytical skills
