Position Overview:

For professionals looking to gain exposure to the private markets industry, audits on internal controls, and project management. The candidate’s primary role will be to assist in executing the SSAE 18 (SOC 1) program, while working with the company’s management, process and control owners, external auditors, and consultants. This position will contribute to the design, evaluation, testing, and monitoring of the company’s SOC 1 internal controls to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory and reputational risks. Opportunity to work with and contribute to the Global SPAR (StepStone Portfolio Analytics & Reporting) operations team including the US, Europe and Asia offices supporting our 24-hour global operations model.

Full-time (40 hours per week) 4-8 month opportunity depending on need and fitment of individual.

Essential Job Functions:

• Contribute to the preparation of the annual SOC 1 evaluation
• Partner with various business units for the purpose of operational support for SOC 1 audit, including addressing audit comments
• Work directly with external and internal auditors as necessary to complete audit report drafting and testing of underlying controls contained within the audit reporting
• Contribute to the preparation of status reports
• Assist with overall project management of the annual SOC 1 report to ensure issuance timelines is met
• Assist the team on specific quarterly, annual, or ad hoc projects and client-related requests

Skills and Qualifications may include:

• BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent relevant experience
• Understanding of auditing standards and techniques and controls, SOC framework.
• Knowledge of SSAE 18 guidelines. Experience with known audit firms or SOC 1 audits are preferred.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Significant experience with Microsoft Excel
• Interest in Global Financial Markets and Private Markets
• Strong attention to detail
• Promote and demonstrate a positive, team‐oriented attitude

Salary: $27.5 / hour
