Junior Analyst - Data and Risk Operations

Position Description:
The DARO Reporting and Operations Junior Analyst role is for professionals looking to gain exposure to the private markets industry and develop skills for investment analysis and reporting. DARO Junior Analysts will develop a deep understanding of Private financial markets by working closely across all SPAR teams to support active Investment Data management and reconciliation efforts within the StepStone investment reporting and analytics system (i.e., “SPI Reporting”). This will be a Full-time (40 hours per week) 16-week paid opportunity with a possibility to extend for additional 16-week terms or transition to a permanent role.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide operational support for daily valuation clients. Provide timely service to specific client accounts with rapid turnaround daily reporting requirements.
- Provide dedicated SPI Reporting system support for discretionary investment client operations (Cash flows, quarterly capital account balances, and portfolio company analysis) with the timely system entry, review, reconciliation, and reporting of new and ongoing Investment Data activity.
- Participate in active daily communication with team including live daily meetings, resolution of issues through email, and saving down records of necessary support materials/documentation. Proprietary Database Investment Data management for discretionary funds and investments includes:
- New investment commitments
- Daily capital activity for existing investments
- Daily underlying portfolio company (Portco) analysis and data system entry
- Quarterly capital account/fair market values
- As necessary, reconcile proprietary data against comparable Fund Administrator records
- Develop and enhance operations systems across the DARO suite of processes
- Learn and develop technical skills that will aid in the enhancement of the DARO suite of processes including
- SQL
- Power BI
- DAX
- Advanced Excel
- Performs other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate
Skills and Qualifications may include:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting preferred
- Relevant coursework or work experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Promote and demonstrate a positive, team‐oriented attitude
- Dynamic, hard-working and a self-starter
- Significant experience with Microsoft Excel
- Basic knowledge of accounting and working knowledge of the financial services industry
- Interest in Global Financial Markets and Private Markets
- Strong attention to detail
Salary range for posting is set to $27.50 per hour.
