The roleWe are looking for an entry level BI Analyst to help support our growing business and build out our data capabilities.
You will be working with the Central Data Services team collaborating with teams across business services to build efficiencies which support day to day functions. You will support people across the company by building self-serve insights content across our BI tooling - we’re using dbt, Looker, DOMO and Amplitude at GoCardless. You’ll support the dashboards and underpinning models that enable deep insight into a fast-growing business and develop an expert knowledge of all areas of our operation. You’ll help people in all areas of GoCardless make better, faster, more data-driven resolutions..
Central Data Services is part of our Business Services which at its heart exists to maximise day-to-day efficiency and productivity within GoCardless. We do this by bringing together teams that span data & technology to provide a 1 stop shop for our customers.
The main elements of this role will involve:- Data collection: Identifying relevant sources, specifying data requirements, and retrieving the data.
- Data cleaning: Inspecting the data, handling missing values and outliers, transforming the data, standardising formats, and validating the cleaned data
- Data visualisation: Using visualisations to tell data stories to a variety of audiences.
- Data analysis: Interpreting results, finding insights, and spotting trends and fluctuations.
- Documentation: Documenting the information and content that will be consumed and processed.
- Assisting the team: Helping members of the team across various insights projects, namely building dashboards, supporting pipelines, data cleansing and providing insights to name a few.

- You’re a self-starter - you take initiative in spotting opportunities and finding ways to solve problems with data
- You’re used to sharing your technical work in a clear way to others around you
- Working on data and pipeline improvements
- Working within the data team managing data support tickets
- Opportunities to learn more about data operations, engineering and insights
- Interest in data, analytics, dashboard building
- Attention to detail & and an ability to solve complex problems
- Great team-working skills
- Strong written & verbal English
- You can communicate your work clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- An understanding of how important clean, accurate and trusted data is for running a business
- A basic understanding SQL and Data / BI tools
- Proficiency in Google Sheets / Excel
- Preferred: An understanding of working in an agile environment at pace
Salary range - the expected base salary range for this position is between €1,204 - €1,333 monthly (gross).
Base salary ranges may vary and are determined by things like geography, level of experience, interview assessment and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, there is no guarantee that an offer will reach the upper limit of the stated range.
