The role in a nutshell:

We’re looking for an exceptional Junior Legal Administrator to focus on managing company secretarial services and contract-related tasks within our busy Legal, Risk & Compliance team. You will be based at Luno’s Cape Town office and be an integral part of a growing team that supports the business globally.

Your mission will be:
  • Taking ownership of corporate and company secretarial issues globally, including building strong relationships with our local company secretarial service providers across various jurisdictions, attending to any requests, foreseeing any issues and ensuring Luno’s ongoing global corporate compliance;
  • Playing a key role in our global expansion efforts by assisting in incorporating entities in priority countries, appointing company secretarial service providers and providing ongoing assistance;
  • Being the single point of contact for the majority of Luno’s company secretarial service providers in different countries across Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia;
  • Taking ownership of Luno’s entity management and contracts management platforms, engaging with the respective teams at each service provider and managing access to and usage of the platforms by Lunauts;
  • Liaising with local, in-country company secretaries on the preparation and signing of required resolutions and the completion and submission of corporate filings;
  • Maintaining strong internal working relationships between the Legal team and other teams, in particular, the Finance & Payments  teams, and local country teams; and

A little about you:
  • A tertiary qualification in law 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional environment, with a preference for financial services or law;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, analytical rigour and an ability to bring order to the disordered;
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills; 
  • The ability to collaborate with team members and service providers over different time zones;
  • A pragmatic approach to resolving problems;
  • Working knowledge of Company Law and Corporate Governance and a basic understanding of KYC processes;
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to obtain data from a number of sources and interpret accordingly; and
  • A predisposition for proactivity, taking ownership and leading change to ensure delivery of results.

In your first six months, you will

  • Learn the workings of Luno’s global entity structure.
  • Maintain statutory records and ensure service providers meet deadlines.
  • Attend to the drafting of board resolutions and various letters, updating of structure charts and the capturing of all company contracts and documents.
  • Gain a close understanding of Luno’s contract management platform and take ownership of the maintenance of all of Luno’s contracts.
  • Become an integral member of Luno’s CoSec team, assisting other teams in the business on all administrative matters and projects.
