As the Jr. Menu Planner, you believe that Canadians should have access to cook delicious and fun recipes at home without stress, and feel positive that we can be the ones to help make this happen! You can use your analytical and practical cooking skills to tackle the challenges in our menu planning process. You will contribute to recipe development and strategic planning for our menus based on consumer insights, seasonality, and budget. Together with the Operations team, you will help bring our recipes to life in the kitchens of our home cooks!

  • Own weekly process functions that contribute to the delivery of our product
  • Support menu planning team with ad hoc requests and communicate recipe changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Apply strategic menu planning practices to create our weekly core HF menu 
  • Communicate amongst cross-functional stakeholders in regard to possible changes and decisions around our weekly menu
  • Support menu planning team with ad hoc requests and communicate recipe changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Support procurement/production-level requests
  • Be data-driven in everything you do to support the decision-making process that shapes our brand and product visions.
  • All other duties, as assigned 

Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for

  • 1-2 years of experience working in the food development, processing, or consumer packaged goods industry is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Exceptional time-management and communication skills to manage multiple projects with various stakeholders.
  • Comfort in working with databases (including data entry) and learning proprietary software MS Excel skills (knowledge of SQL and Python an asset)
  • A great knowledge of ingredients and cooking, with a keen eye for spotting food trends and exciting ingredients. You are obsessed with food and passionate about encouraging Canadians to cook more at home!
  • An ability to identify process gaps and opportunities and a willingness to take the necessary steps to improve them
  • Strategic and creative problem-solving skills in order to manage and improve the menu planning process - from recipe concept to meal kit execution
  • Quantitative and analytical experience to translate consumer insights into actions that improve our recipes
  • Ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change and limited direction, and comfortable making split-second decisions and running with it
