As a Junior Recipe Developer, you will be part of our in-house Culinary team and will collaborate with our Product Innovation, Menu Planning, and Product Insights teams. Your contribution to the strategic development of our Culinary department will be focused predominantly on researching, developing and testing recipes, analyzing and providing critical recommendations related to process improvements, and analyzing food trends, ingredients, diets, and customer preferences. You will be working on the HelloFresh and/or EveryPlate Brands.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, analyze and cross test recipes for execution, recipe flow, ingredient compatibility, recipe guidelines, and especially flavor. Recommend revisions to improve taste and consistent execution of successful recipes that can be reproduced by home cooks of varying skill levels.
  • Research and develop new recipes within budget, nutritional, and variety constraints, leveraging product insights, food trends, customer feedback, and the recipe database to create exciting and successful new dishes. Analyze feedback on new recipes and make process adjustments to perfect recipes and document precise directions.
  • Participate in all of the culinary team tastings, share your insights, provide and collect feedback on recipe flavor, composition, and methods; analyze and make any recommendations on any adjustments that need to be made to recipes, process, or directions.
  • Research and experiment with new food trends, ingredients, and different diets. 
  • Participate in our innovation workshops in collaboration with the Product Innovation team to shape the future direction of the menu.
  • Analyze and propose modifications to existing recipes and corresponding directions to re-energize the product and drive score improvement or help solve operational constraints.
  • Learn the unique HelloFresh and/or EveryPlate menu offerings. Become an expert in our customer preferences and flavor profiles, and apply this knowledge when evaluating recipes, ingredients, and processes to cultivate a variety of flavor experiences. 
  • Review recipes for editorial and guideline standards before customer go-live; recommend changes as needed.
  • Analyze customer feedback and update guidelines tracker for accuracy, including updating for new methods or new ingredients based on customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide culinary input on projects and new initiatives.

At a minimum, you have...

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 2 years of Professional Culinary experience; ideally in a Test Kitchen or Product Development related role 
  • Culinary School Degree or equivalent work experience and/or training

New York Pay Range$65,000—$70,000 USD
