Lead Content Strategist (12-18 month FTC)
AKQA Lead Content Strategists are strategic content experts, passionate about digital transformations. Working directly with our NZ government client, based in Wellington, this role will champion the strategic design of content for world-class digital experiences by leading the development of an enterprise content strategy.
The Lead Content Strategist will collaborate with senior government stakeholders, digital teams, UX designers, content designers and architects, subject matter experts and technical teams to deliver a best-practice content strategy for seamless digital experiences, and help propel new opportunities forward through content leadership.
As a passionate advocate for exceptional content, the Lead Content Strategist will translate user and business requirements into an outstanding content strategy to drive results—leading to a greater understanding of and appreciation for the role of content across the organisation.
You will also work directly with the AKQA team, in a content design-focussed role on two exciting projects for the client.At AKQA Aotearoa, you’ll work in an innovative and inclusive culture, surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields. ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Develop enterprise-level and project specific content strategies.
- Deliver presentations to senior client stakeholders.
- Balance creativity and imagination with robust organisational and operational excellence to provide profitable, useful, and sustainable solutions that elevate our clients’ brands and positively impact the lives of users and the wider community.
- Interpret qualitative and quantitative data for sound, data-driven content decisions.
- Optimise content, processes, systems and artefacts to maximise content-development quality.
- Develop content design systems, guidelines, playbooks etc. for content frameworks.
- Create information architecture frameworks, page templates, taxonomies,, and priority guides to complement and drive content plans forward.
- Make structural SEO recommendations, in collaboration with SEO consultants.
- QA all projects to ensure a high standard of copy and quality across every deliverable.
- 12-18 month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity of a permanent role
- Full-time, 5 days per weekLocation will be based in client’s Wellington office (min 2 days pw) and AKQA Wellington (1 day pw)
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Extensive expertise and client credibility in all aspects of content strategy, planning and delivery.
- Experience working in digital technologies and environments
- Highly skilled in strategic collaboration and an exceptional communicator.
- Experience evaluating, auditing, and analysing content experiences to identify areas for potential improvement.
- Knowledge of best-practice principles and confidence communicating these to clients.
- Writes clear, compelling, user-focused copy across digital channels and can guide other writers.
