As a Lead data engineer you’ll join a cross-functional team building features to be used by internal stakeholders from several operational departments. You will develop engaging user experiences iteratively using modern technologies with focus on accessibility, scalability and maintainability.

• Growth and mentor engineers according to our development framework
• Develop and own scalable data products
• Work closely with the product owner to deliver value in iterative cycle
• Coordinating with stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines
• Contributing to the strategic planning of data initiatives
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh’s core product and architecture, serving as an ambassador for data solutions and best practices.
• Advocate for (Data) Operational Excellence, assisting teams and Engineering Leadership in identifying and prioritizing investments that enhance data quality and the robustness of data pipelines.

• You are an experienced data engineering leader who has a deep understanding of your domain.
• Solid software engineering experience with the ability to design, implement, and deliver maintainable, high-quality code in Python.
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing and data processing technologies, including Spark, Amazon EMR, Kubernetes, and Kafka
• Proficiency in data modeling, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and object stores (e.g., AWS S3)
• Demonstrable experience with agile methodologies, with a strong focus on delivery, lean thinking, and quick iterations
• Experience with event-driven architecture is nice to have
