Would you like to build quality tooling around state of the art leading software, rather than getting stuck with sluggish test automation that someone else built? If you know C#, Jenkins and architecture of automated testing, we could potentially give you the freedom to create the vision for this environment, and build your own new team to run it!

Rightware, based in Helsinki and with presence in 7 other countries, is a collection of 120+ experts in gaming, graphics and UI development, focused on delivering Kanzi, our advanced HMI toolchain.

As Lead Engineer, Test Automation, you will spend the first several weeks working with our teams to understand how we already utilize our existing automated test framework. Then you’ll dive deep into our code. When you resurface, unscathed, you will draft a plan how to tackle our mission with new tech, new frameworks, and a new team.

So, essentially you will

  • Maintain and improve our existing automated test frameworks and tests, mostly built using C# with MSTEST, to support continuous testing of Kanzi Studio.
  • Recruit, build, and lead a talented team of test automation engineers focused on enhancing the R&D efficiency at Rightware.
  • Develop and implement new, efficient, and stable test frameworks to elevate our quality standards.
  • Oversee and contribute to manual testing efforts to ensure timely releases, while planning and leading the transition to fully automated release processes in the future.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional R&D teams, aligning testing strategies with development goals, product requirements and process standards such as ISO/IEC 15504 or ASPICE.
  • Mentor and grow the skills of your team, fostering a collaborative and innovation-driven culture.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with test frameworks and tools such as MSTEST, Jenkins, msbuild, gradle, C#, C++, Python, Robot, git, and groovy.
  • Proven experience in leading QA and Test Automation teams.
  • Expertise in maintaining and evolving complex test frameworks and infrastructure.
  • Ability to work closely with development teams, driving both automated and manual testing efforts to completion.
  • Familiar with virtual environments such as VMWare or AWS EC2.
  • Excellent English language and teamwork skills.

We also appreciate:

  • Experience in developing and scaling automation strategies.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience in automating release processes and eliminating manual testing steps.
  • Experience in testing desktop applications, particularly WPF applications with a C++ backend.
  • Experience in working in organizations compliant with ISO/IEC 15504 or ASPICE.
