We are looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join our Corporate Accounting team located in Palo Alto and play a key role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence. The Accounting Lead must possess strong accounting and operational expertise, an ability to communicate and work with various teams outside of Finance (such as Tax, IT, Workspace, Payments Operations and other Engineering groups), and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth technology company.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Global Corporate Accounting Operations, the Accounting Lead will be responsible for assisting in all areas related to the worldwide month-end close. This position will directly own monthly entries, implement control and process improvements and assist in researching and resolving complex accounting issues as they arise. This position will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams across the organization on global expansion initiative and global process standardization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform financial close activities such as journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate lease accounting, lease roll forwards, ARO analysis, and have in-depth knowledge of ASC 842 accounting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures related to month-end close, and assist in the design and implementation of new controls and processes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of scalable accounting processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Analyze data against business drivers to identify trends / issues
  • Provide support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree in the accounting field
  • Certified Chartered accountant or CPA will be preferred
  • 7+ years experience of month-end close experience for a multinational company
  • A mix of publicly-listed company and public accounting is highly desired
  • Strong US GAAP and ASC 842 knowledge
  • Experience working in a SOX control environment
  • Possess excellent analytical skills (MS Excel), business partnering, problem solving, critical thinking and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Experience working with Netsuite, FloQast, Leasecalcs or other major ERP systems will be a plus
