Payoneer’s mission is to enable businesses of all sizes from anywhere in the world to access the rising, global economy by enabling them to transact globally as easily as they do locally. Life at Payoneer is a global community, where you’ll work with colleagues all over the world, serving small- and medium-sized business customers and partners in over 190 markets.

As a key member of our payroll operations team, this role will take full ownership of payroll delivery and compliance across several European countries—starting with Spain and scaling further. You’ll handle day-to-day payroll operations, vendor coordination, statutory compliance, internal support, and help build new payroll setups across entities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring strong attention to detail, technical payroll knowledge, and the ability to juggle multiple countries, stakeholders, and processes.   What you’ll be investing your time on:
  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing across the EMEA region, including monthly and semi-monthly cycles.
  • Verifying data accuracy, reviewing reports, and ensuring timely payments via appropriate channels.
  • Coordinating closely with payroll vendors—reviewing processes, tracking performance, and handling reconciliations.
  • Ensuring statutory compliance in every country: taxes, social security, and mandatory documentation.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for internal teams (Finance, CSM, Sales) and handling employee/client queries.
  • Supporting entity and payroll setup, including system testing, calculator configuration, and implementation planning.
  • Preparing and validating client-facing reports like variances, breakdowns, and summary comparisons.
  • Participating in internal and external audits and maintaining clear, accurate payroll documentation.
  • Identifying areas for automation and process improvement to scale payroll operations effectively.
Have you done this kind of stuff?
  • 5–7 years of payroll delivery experience, including multi-country environments.
  • Deep knowledge of statutory regulations, tax systems, and labor compliance in Europe.
  • Experience working directly with payroll vendors, managing reconciliations, and improving process efficiency.
  • Familiar with implementing new payroll setups, transitions, or expansions into new countries/entities.
  • Worked cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and Client teams to support business-as-usual operations.
  • Skilled in preparing accurate, detailed reports for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Ability to identify issues quickly, propose effective solutions, and take ownership of delivery.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal, and capable of influencing across multiple functions.
Not a must but good to have:
  • Background in audit support, documentation control, or process automation.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices in multiple European countries beyond Spain.
  • Experience with payroll transitions, salary calculator logic, or testing payroll setups.
  • Additional European languages (e.g., Portuguese or French).
