LEAD SECURITY OPERATIONS ANALYST

We are a target of nation states, cyber criminals, and other adversaries. We must defend against these threats to succeed in our missions to launch satellites, deliver people and cargo to the International Space Station, provide internet to the world, and bring humanity to Mars.

As the Lead Security Operations Analyst, you and your team will be the front line of defense against these adversaries. You will be responsible for our detection capabilities, security operations team of analysts, and our incident response procedures. You will drive the long-term technical roadmap for the team while also responding quickly to new threat intelligence and emerging vulnerabilities. You must be able to interface well with both internal and external teams, make good decisions about risk and the impact of events, and communicate technical information about incidents clearly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the security operations team in identification and response to cyber threat activities
  • Drive the design and implementation of the enterprise security operations processes, playbooks, and bespoke engineered solutions
  • Drive the design and implementation of security operations infrastructure and tooling
  • Communicate to peers, business partners, and management aspects of cyber defense, including crisis/incident communications, investigative results, and awareness of the cyber threat landscape
  • Build strong relationships with internal engineering and support teams to obtain and utilize application logs and metrics to improve the security program
  • Build relationships with external sources of information security information that help us manage our security program
  • Directly interface with Insider Threat, Investigations and Legal teams in the event of security incidents

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years or more of information security experience without a degree; OR a bachelor’s degree in information technology, security, computer science or a STEM field of study and 5+ years of information security experience
  • 1+ years or more of experience in a security operations capacity, responding to cybersecurity incidents
  • Experience leading teams in an operational or technical capacity

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Deep understanding of Incident Response processes and best-practices
  • Understanding of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures in both pre and post-exploitation phases of attack lifecycles
  • Experience with modern security information and event management (SIEM and EDR) systems such as Splunk, ELK, Sentinel One, etc.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture, tool integration, and API development/automation
  • Excellent technical communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience improving security operations tooling, detections, and procedures

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:           Lead: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00/per year            

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
