Databricks is looking for an experienced attorney to join Databricks commercial legal team. As Commercial Counsel you will join the rapidly growing legal team reporting to the Director & Associate General Counsel, Legal. You will provide legal support for Databricks' U.S. commercial business, including negotiating commercial contracts and solving issues relating to security and privacy, in addition to providing general legal support to Databricks as an integrated part of the Databricks global legal team.

The impact you will have:

  • Draft and negotiate complex, non-standard agreements governing innovative products and addressing cutting edge legal issues
  • Advise commercial sales teams on deal process and contract management
  • Understand SaaS, product, data security, and privacy process issues to guide the sales team during negotiations, and in many other contexts
  • Help with standardization of documentation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Understand Databricks' internal structures, product offerings, technology, security/data protection systems and policies to give you a foundation for providing support across all lines of business
  • Provide general legal support

What we look for:

  • Attorney with 5+ years of relevant experience with a law firm and/or in-house within the tech sector
  • Understanding of cloud services, technology and professional services contracts
  • High-level negotiation and legal drafting skills
  • Solid knowledge of business process gained in-house relating to commercial, contract, intellectual property, and data privacy law
  • Experience managing workload in a high-pressure environment with competing demands
  • A desire to be part of a dynamic legal team supporting the recognized leader in processing big data in the cloud

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 2 Pay Range$129,800—$229,600 USD
