As Corporate Counsel, Cybersecurity you’ll help build a scalable global cybersecurity practice and have primary responsibility for advising and supporting the sales and professional services organization on cybersecurity matters at a high-growth, publicly-traded enterprise software company. You will work on cutting-edge cybersecurity, privacy, and product projects in a modern, cloud-first, SaaS environment where you can apply your experience providing strong legal guidance to help Okta deliver world-class products to our thousands of global customers.
Provide Legal support for Legal Cybersecurity processes and account delivery requirements. Ensure that processes are consistent with the company policies. Advise on Legal and risk management issues. Resolve issues and disputes to minimize potential litigation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Support the Legal Cyber Review Team with contractual and statutory assessment of the cyber/security incidents for Clients globally.
● Requires analysis and solving of moderately complex problems. May create new solutions, leveraging and, where needed, adapting existing methods and procedures.
● Requires understanding of the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
● Requires ability to provide guidance when determining methods and procedures.
● Provide individuals with positive developmental feedback and support any specific project training initiatives.
● Provide training or support to project specific training.
● Support implementation of new initiatives in project support areas or within Legal Services (in addition to allocated role).
● Understand and apply code of Business Ethics to ensure compliance and manage project support area; and
● Demonstrate understanding of the company's approval processes and ensure that all stakeholders are timely engaged and informed on the relevant process.
● Support leadership with reports/metrics/dashboards.
● Update and compile reports for Leadership.
● Process improvement: constantly check materials, trainings, possible improvements to discuss with Leadership.
- Assist with creating a contract tracking mechanism, specifically for customer breach notification timelines
- Review contractual and/or statutory notification requirements in case of data/ cyber security incident.
● Learn security clause negotiation with internal stakeholders. Ensure the required remedial and/ or mitigation actions were taken and recommend appropriate remedial and/ or mitigation actions.
● Review the incident in line with client expectations and escalate the matter to various other teams as required from time to time.
● Be involved with the Legal Cyber Review team’s process improvements initiatives and handle the complex matters for the team.
● Maintain an incident tracker and site with updated documents.
● Recording accurately and regularly the details of the incidents handled on a real time basis.
● Train other members/ new joiners of the team.
● Assist in preparing decks for leadership updates on the process as and when required; and
● Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, pilot programs, revision of handbooks and research protocols.
● Understand general basic corporate business practices and contracting regulations.
● Understand relevant company policies and exercises reasonable judgement to apply company policy and procedure in risk mitigation and timely escalates to line manager with issues.
● Understand company’s interests while communicating with executives at all levels of the organization.
