In the Live Operations Planning Team, we're developing world-class plans that challenge the business to keep moving forward whilst also making sure our customers are looked after.
We champion customer excellence and are empowered to make a difference on a global scale, working across the wider function and with operational teams, to enable our Plan Zero objectives.
This role in a nutshell:
You'll manage the in-day plan, communicating across the organisation and sharing insights on intraday performance. You'll lead a team of Analysts to ensure we deliver against expected business outcomes and service level targets every single day. You'll be responsible for delivering solutions that protect operational service levels and ownership of the build, maintenance and deployment of the Tactical Playbook to mitigate against risks and protect the customer experience. You'll be proactive and collaborate across the Operation, balancing people, customer & business needs. You'll also look after in day management of demand drivers such as Direct Mailers and system performance. You'll be working across all levels of the business, building relationships with senior team members.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Work closely with wider business teams on any base stimulation activity that drives incremental demand, agreeing advanced plans and reviewing customer contacts at in-day
- Be a central conduit between central systems team and the front line by monitoring operational systems, flagging and managing any incidents
- Own advance planning for events, with ownership of morning stand up and end of day activities & accompany event reporting (e.g. Price Increase, Campaigns, Product Launches)
- Drive forward in-day tactical resourcing solutions, cross skill or swing of capacity
- Provide EoD & EoW performance reporting, using data insights & analysis, making recommendations to optimise and improve outcomes
- Regularly provide performance insight, telling consistent, clear and compelling stories up to various levels of senior leadership
- To work with Planning & Operational colleagues to capture all relevant observations feeding back to help drive the operations forward and maximise on capacity utilisation.
- Work across the business to understand risks and mitigate where appropriate in relation to any resource movements or off plan performance against target metrics
- Investigate operational needs, resolving problems and contributing to a continual improvement culture
- Engage & support business change, undertaking impacts assessments, scenario modeling & performance prognosis to assist with informed decision making
- Own in-day forecast & resource optimisation by using best-in-class methodology and statistical modelling to ensure accuracy
- Build and maintain accurate historical Live Operations records
- Use MI to assess Root Cause and formulate in-day corrective plans and actions with key collaborators with measures of success defined
- Ensure that all systems, processes and procedures within the F&P remit are standardised & fit for purpose, consistently monitored, being managed efficiently and fully utilised
- Maintain all Live Operations planning, forecasting and resourcing models

- Have a proven track record of delivery and expertise in business & resource planning, from long range outlooks through to intraday staffing
- Have experience working within a technology, business transformation or business analysis field

Even better if you have:
- Energy sector knowledge
- Formal training and certifications in business analysis, such as BCS or equivalent
- Formal training in lean process design, such as lean six sigma
- Formal training in agile delivery methodology such as certification as a scrum master or product owner
- Formal leadership or coaching / mentoring training or certification

We’ll pay you between £40,000 and £45,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, let us know!
