The Role

This project is centered on working with and for some of the most marginalized communities in the city of Bengaluru. The right candidate will have some experience of either working with these communities or living amongst them. The individual in this role will have to approach issues within the community with high levels of sensitivity and thus must be well equipped to communicate and engage with the communities as required.

In terms of responsibilities, the person in this role will support on-ground campaign execution for the project. This may include:

  • Coordinating with project partners and identifying new partners/vendors as needed
  • Being present at events and helping with logistics and coordination
  • Stakeholder engagement - This could include securing meetings with decision makers and others; creating collaterals required for such interactions and developing text and translation support as required
  • Participate in scheduled brainstorming and ideation meetings with the Purpose team to bring insights from the field, partner conversations and wider ecosystem to the project
  • Support in Identifying opportunities to showcase the project and identify platforms for representation for the communities we work with
  • Keeping strong and regular channels of communication open with the Purpose team at all times. This will include weekly calls with the internal team and weekly calls with the partners.
  • Maintain and record ongoing activities and share back with the team (photos/videos/other important data that may be useful from a reporting standpoint). This will include working closely with the Impact, Monitoring and learning lead on the project to document accurately.

 

Qualifications:                                                                      

  • 2-3 years of experience working with grassroot communities and organizations. Located in Bengaluru itself.
  • Kannada Fluency
  • Ability to write/speak in basic English is preferred
