The Role:

Are you ready to be at the forefront of revolutionizing air mobility? As we embark on the exciting journey towards serial production of our ground-breaking Lilium jet, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Machine Safety Engineer with standardization expertise to join our world-class team.

As the Machine Safety and Standardization Engineer, you have a pivotal, hands-on role in ensuring the machines we make, buy, and use are safe and comply with relevant standards within our manufacturing operations.  You will also work on standardization of machine safety to ensure consistency of process and documentation.     

 Your Day to Day:

  • Review and approve equipment specifications for compliance, covering our existing and new machines
  • Conduct safety audits on machinery, addressing potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with new and existing vendors to approve equipment safety features - applying a safety lens to all steps in the supplier onboarding process. 
  • Develop strategies for standardizing machinery across assembly lines.
  • Participate in design reviews to integrate safety considerations.
  • Provide training on safety protocols and standards.
  • Foster a safety-conscious culture through awareness initiatives.
  • Regularly update documentation related to equipment specifications and safety protocols.

 

Your Profile:

We are looking for a great communicator with a passion for safety and an eye for detail to join our team.  Proven experience in machine safety covering a wide variety of equipment, particularly electrical, and a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field is essential.

Standardization experience is important; applying your in-depth knowledge of safety regulations for industrial machinery to create robust documentation and process. You should have strong analytical skills for risk assessment and mitigation and be adaptable to evolving safety standards and regulations.

Excellent English language skills are required and German language is preferred.
