Machining Technician (Starlink) - 2nd Shift

MACHINING TECHNICIAN (STARLINK) - 2ND SHIFT
As a machining technician, you will directly operate CNC mills in support of our internally manufactured satellite and gateway parts. These parts maintain exceptionally tight tolerance requirements in order to provide the RF (Radio Frequency) performance our cutting-edge satellite network requires. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency and will directly interface with assembly and test technicians, quality inspectors, and engineers on the Starlink satellite and gateway teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load cutting tools, fixturing, and pre-machined blanks into CNC mills for machining
- Operate CNC milling equipment for machining of waveguide components
- Deburr and precision clean waveguide components
- Package and deliver parts for assembly
- Perform basic machine checks and light preventative maintenance
- Assist with various shop floor activities including: 5S, material handling, forklift operation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment or machine shop
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of prior experience working in a machine shop
- Knowledge of CNC machining
- Experience using various measuring instruments: micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and borescopes
- Ability to read and work off of a blueprint
- Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and/or weekends, as needed. Estimated shift time, 2nd shift: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting, and exposure to typical shop chemicals (coolant, solvents, cleaners) are generally required to perform the functions of this position
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Machining Technician/Level 1: $22.00 - $26.50/hour
Machining Technician/Level 2: $25.00 - $31.00/hour
Machining Technician/Level 3: $29.00 - $37.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
