The Lilium Part 145 Maintenance Organization is critical to enable our vision where anybody can fly anywhere, anytime. You will develop the future organization and define and implement innovative operating procedures and processes and secure the required approvals in conjunction with the relevant authorities for our own organization and support our partners in this approval process.

The position reports to the VP Flight Ops, Services & Support and will work closely with other members of the Commercial team, as well as with the Team of Engineering, Production, and Procurement. You will also interact with external operators and regulators.

Your role and your team: 

The role of the Lilium Maintenance Services Manager is to develop and drive our Maintenance Service strategy, to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction, to establish a network of owned Part 145 capabilities as well as managing an external network of Lilium Authorized Service Centers (LASC) delivering services in the regions, to support our Commercial contracts with flawless maintenance delivery, supporting a cost effective component repair organization, and to assist with achieving our commercial objectives. The role will act as the primary interface between Lilium and the future Operators / Customers of the Lilium Jet regarding their maintenance needs and will be key in securing outstanding maintenance support in all regions where the Lilium Jet is deployed.

You will manage the interaction and the relationship with our customers by establishing and maintaining contact at all levels of the organization. You are focused on operational excellence but also on commercial performance of our services contracts.

This role is furthermore responsible for driving the maintainability aspects pertaining to the design of the Lilium Jet by providing operational insights and by contributing actively to the MSG-3 process. As an internal voice of the customer, you will work with the design teams, Production, and Procurement to drive cost effective solutions.

Your Day to Day: 

  • Develop our make or buy Part 145 MRO strategy;
  • Set-up the future Lilium Part 145 MRO Organization to carry out Line and Hangar Maintenance as well as Component Repairs; Develop and commission the initial MRO infrastructure and develop scalable processes and systems;
  • Identify and contract global MRO partners as LASCs across the work scope and on a global scale; Negotiate successful partnership deals and manage partner deliverables to set KPIs;
  • Deliver “Mission Ready” aircraft within their networks, including oversight of maintenance planning, execution and return to service at MRO locations;
  • Oversee the execution of all aspects of aircraft maintenance management; Monitor and analyse performance metrics and other data daily to ensure business goals and SLAs are being met across Inhouse and external MRO providers;
  • Manage the Maintenance Services P&L generating royalties and revenues, as well as constantly challenging the cost base; Manage Capex and Opex; establish budget plans and reporting on the fulfilment against agreed targets.

Your Profile: 

  • Proven experience of management supervision within an EASA Part 145 and Part 147 Environment;
  • 5 years’ experience in a managerial leadership function in an aviation setting; Ideally 2 years' experience in a similar position;
  • Previous EASA Form 4 holder or EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License B1/B2/C is preferred but not essential;
  • Experience in setting up Line and Base MRO organizations including personnel and facilities from scratch
  • Experience of supporting new technology platforms, ideally the implementation of an industry recognized ERP within aircraft MRO operations;
  • Ability to develop business strategies supported by robust business plans or other strategic imperatives;
  • Excellent track record of customer interfacing experience and driving customer satisfaction;
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills, as well as the ability to build long-term customer relationships;
  • Able and comfortable working in a developing, fluid, and constantly changing company and industry.
