The Global Safety and Security Physical Security Technician will be responsible for handling day to day support for all aspects of security technology and systems ranging from CCTV, card access, alarm systems, physical security controls and overall best practices in physical security across Wayfair.

Location: Boston, MA

What You’ll Do 

  • Support physical security standards as they relate to security devices; CCTV, card access and alarms. 
  • Implement and support the installations of security devices at all Wayfair locations and retrofit improvements at existing locations (incl. programming, mapping, and device provisioning).
  • Collaborate with Global Safety & Security team members and create action plans to improve visibility and protection.
  • Assist Global Safety & Security team to achieve desired results as they relate to physical security standards. 
  • Suggest policies and procedures for the design, approval and use of all physical security devices utilized globally.
  • Assist in post-theft incident analysis to help identify gaps and make recommendations.
  • Stay current with innovative and emerging technologies that can enhance security standards at Wayfair. 
  • Earn trust through regular communication with management on status, threats, risk mitigation and improvement options. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with all levels of Global Safety & Security and other functional areas as assigned.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with external partners such as regulatory agencies, industry security vendors and suppliers. 
  • Provide supportive feedback and coaching throughout the year to help management achieve security performance objectives.    

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position OR 5 years of experience of increasing responsibility related to security technology required
  • Ability to work in office 4 days per week required
  • Ability to travel ~30% of the time required
  • Proficiency with physical security design, development, and implementation required 
  • Strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and professionalism, including an ability to maintain confidentiality required 
  • Sound business skills such as communication, critical thinking, budgeting, time management and good decision-making ability in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment required 
  • Must be able to work/stand/walk in a variety of weather, temperature,  terrain and noise conditions for shifts up to 10 hours required
  • Must be able to lift and hold 15 pounds required 
  • Schedule flexibility required (working hours and travel vary across multiple shifts as the needs of the business change and in response to emergencies and system maintenance)
  • Strong experience with Exacqvision, and Lenel Onguard preferred
  • Technical knowledge of computer hardware and networking preferred
