About the roleYou will support critical translation between English to Japanese languages across Crunchyroll's creative and partner development functions. From pitch decks to partner communications to internal memos, you'll ensure ideas are conveyed accurately, clearly, and with the cultural nuance required in both languages. You'll also oversee translation vendors, manage timelines, and step in to support edits when needed.
Core Responsibilities- Deliver accurate and nuanced English to Japanese (and vice versa) translations for business critical pitch decks, partner communications, and creative documents
- Oversee translation timelines and manage external vendors or freelancers to ensure tone and intent are preserved across documents
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand goals and terminology to ensure translated materials align with Crunchyroll's brand voice
- Act as a thought leader in how Crunchyroll communicates externally to our partners - advising on tone, clarity, and cultural nuance

About YouWe get excited about candidates, like you, because you are...
- A professional with 5+ years of experience in translation or localization, ideally in entertainments or media
- Fluent in Japanese and English (business proficiency), with strong command of both formal and creative languages
- Detail-oriented across high-volume and fast turnaround work
- Comfortable working with creative materials Experience managing translation vendors or freelancers would be an added bonus
The Content Strategy & Development team defines what content is needed to fuel Crunchyroll's global growth - and how to unlock the creative and strategic pathways that bring the content to our platform.
