Manager, Billing

The Billing Manager is a leadership position, which will lead and support the Americas billing team, based out of Texas and India.
Team Description:
The Billing team is a subteam of the Order-to-Cash department, and is led by the Sr. Manager of Global Billing. As a global team, we sit in three locations: Austin, Dublin and Gurgaon. We are both an internal and external customer facing team, comprised of high-performing over-achievers and driven professionals.
Position Responsibilities Include- Oversee and streamline billing processes in partnership with international billing managers
- Hire, train, develop and supervise billing staff
- Enable and assist with building team morale and while maintaining an ‘open door policy’ allowing the team to reach out between check-in calls
- Coordinate and update billing documentation in line with company and accounting policies
- Creating and setting team goals that align with the company strategy and vision
- Oversee audit preparations for all interim and year-end audits
- Complete monthly closing tasks and maintain accurate reports with supporting details
- Become subject matter expert for billing and liaise with cross functional teams on projects for efficiency and scalability
- Ensure the accuracy of deal closure and invoicing such that all invoices are issued in accordance with proper GL impact and MDB policy
- Review ordering documents to confirm ordering details are correctly entered into our sales and financial accounting systems as per SOX controls (threshold based)
- Edit and approve Salesforce.com opportunities, converting them to sales orders in NetSuite (threshold based)
- Monitor and respond to internal queries and escalations via email, Slack
- Assist junior team members with escalations and complex detail review
- Communicate order discrepancies/errors to sales and financial management
- Work late nights and weekends during quarterly closing periods
- Frequent inspection of the quality and accuracy of the team’s output
- Prepares return authorizations and credit memo requests for credit and rebills, including support to obtain approvals
- Ad-hoc projects related to administration, operational and accounting needs
- Some international and domestic travel is expected
- 7-10 years experience working in billing and order processing. 3-5 years leadership experience
- Enjoys working through large volumes of orders
- Completes tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Fast and accurate data entry skills are essential
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to support cross functional and global operations
- Experience in high volume, fast-paced environment supporting corporate customers
- Courteous, professional and passionate about providing the highest level of customer service
- Strong attention to detail, quality of work is consistently clean
- Prior experience with Salesforce and NetSuite preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiar with legal agreements such as customer agreements and ordering documents. Ability to navigate comfortably through T&C’s
- Ability to be flexible and adapt with a rapidly growing company and demands for process development and change
The Billing Manager will be successful in this role when they can execute the following strategic tasks/responsibilities:
- In 3 - 6 months’ time be fully on-boarded to the team and trained to start taking ownership of your day-to-day tasks
- In 6 -12 months’ time you’ll have accomplished ownership of billing processes
- In 12 months’ time, you’ll have accomplished a rapport with multiple teams within the company. As well as demonstrated desire to grow further and develop both your skills and career

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$69,000—$135,000 USD
