Manager, Curated Merchandising
Wayfair seeks a strategic, data-driven Head of Curated Merchandising to lead a high-performing team in shaping a top-tier merchandising experience for the UK and Ireland. This role drives product selection, presentation, and promotions to align with market trends, customer preferences, and business goals across multiple channels.
With full decision-making authority, you’ll define and execute merchandising strategies, translating high-level objectives into actionable plans while proactively addressing operational challenges.
As a high-impact leader, you'll oversee curated assortments, onsite merchandising, and collaboration with Category Management, Brand & Content Strategy, and Performance Marketing. This role balances strategic vision with hands-on execution to solve complex challenges.

Who We Are
The EU Marketing Team drives initiatives across Performance Marketing, Onsite Marketing, CRM & Email, Social Media, Brand & Content Strategy, and Promotional Planning. We develop data-driven strategies to enhance engagement, boost conversion, and accelerate Wayfair’s growth across European markets.
As a collaborative, customer-focused team, we craft cross-channel strategies that seamlessly integrate promotional, functional, and brand messaging. Partnering with Commercial, Product, and Creative teams, we refine customer touchpoints, optimize marketing efficiency, and drive measurable results.
With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making and localized execution, we continuously adapt to evolving customer needs while aligning with Wayfair’s global marketing vision.
Key Responsibilities Assortment Strategy & Planning:- Define and implement a merchandising execution strategy, detailing how, why, and when the team will deliver on key business and marketing goals.
- Own the decision-making process for determining the most effective execution plan, ensuring curated merchandising aligns with commercial and marketing priorities.
- Curate marketing and channel-focused product assortments, ensuring market relevance, commercial success, and customer alignment.
- Solve tactical and operational problems that arise when executing curated merchandising strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with Category Management teams to identify growth opportunities, refine pricing strategies, and integrate sales performance insights into strategic planning.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of merchandising professionals, ensuring they are equipped to execute complex merchandising strategies autonomously.
- Balance direct execution and people leadership, ensuring team members are empowered to own and deliver on key initiatives.
- Establish performance goals and provide ongoing mentorship to drive team success while supporting individual career development.
- Conduct in-depth market research, identifying shifts in industry trends, customer behavior, and competitive activity.
- Leverage complex data sets to drive decision-making, applying insights to optimize curated assortments and enhance category performance.
- Anticipate second-order impacts and proactively adjust merchandising strategies to stay ahead of market demands.
- Develop an execution plan that bridges the gap between strategy and implementation, ensuring merchandising initiatives are aligned with Brand, Channel Marketing, and Category Management.
- Act as the key merchandising stakeholder in seasonal GTM strategies, ensuring product selections align with business objectives, competitive insights, and consumer trends.
- Collaborate with the Campaign & Content Strategy team to translate strategic merchandising concepts into fully realized marketing campaigns, content plans and creative executions.
- Collaborate with the Brand Strategy team in the execution of the Annual Brand & Promotional Calendar, ensuring Wayfair’s Share of Voice strategy effectively prioritizes key product categories that drive business impact.
- Operate autonomously, making informed decisions on merchandising execution without the need for routine oversight from senior management.
- Establish and track key performance metrics, assessing the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and campaign impact.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions, improving merchandising execution and business performance.
- Lead post-mortem analyses on major campaigns, extracting learnings and optimizing future merchandising strategies.
- Ensure product selections are strategically positioned to enhance the customer shopping experience and drive engagement.
- Analyze customer feedback and behavior, adjusting merchandising execution to reflect evolving consumer preferences.
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail merchandising, or visual merchandising, with a strong focus on curation and campaign execution.
- Proven track record of decision-making ownership, with the ability to autonomously define execution strategies, solve operational challenges, and drive business outcomes.
- Fluent in English
- Strategic mindset, balancing creative merchandising with data-driven execution.
- Strong analytical skills, leveraging large data sets and performance tools (Excel, GBQ, Looker) to guide strategy.
- Project management expertise, adept at handling multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability, anticipating second-order impacts and proactively finding solutions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills for seamless cross-team collaboration.
- Passion for home décor, industry trends, and merchandising innovation, with a deep understanding of customer preferences and market dynamics.
