Crunchyroll is looking for a Marketing Manager for the South East Asia (SEA) region. 

This role reports to the Marketing Director for SEA, and rolls up into the International and Emerging Markets Marketing team. This role will support business growth for the Crunchyroll brand in the region, support title launches and brand initiatives, and play an essential coordination role with global LOB teams that support regional initiatives.  

This role requires strong relationship building skills, centered in the middle of business development, marketing strategy and creative campaign oversight and is responsible for the holistic marketing success in the SEA region. It contributes to the long-term path to success for the SEA region as a whole and provides connection between the market and central global strategic functions following the “globally aligned, regionally relevant principle”.

The Marketing Manager handles the marketing day-to-day and is the cross-functional steward on a campaign level, responsible for insight driven strategic campaign planning and world-class creative execution. Being a regional media expert with the ability to plan, activate and execute holistic marketing campaigns in a locally relevant manner, the Sr. Marketing Manager is always in sync with the social media team, and a reliable partner to the global growth marketing, brand teams, local media partners and agencies. 

The Marketing Manager takes direct ownership and accountability for the success of title and brand campaign launches and results.

This role will be based in Singapore (currently remote).

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct the execution of regional campaigns through agencies and in partnership with the centralized internal Marketing, Social Media and Creative Service teams
  • Drive viewership and streaming subscriptions, grow our awareness footprint, and leverage all organic marketing efforts to reach users in meaningful and engaging ways.
  • Including but not limited to: Seasonal plans for 1st-Window streaming, franchise/tentpole titles; Crunchyroll brand campaigns for awareness and conversions; experiential and convention activation campaigns
  • Manage non-digital marketing programs and sponsorships along with experiential marketing activations as needed 
  • Develop influencer marketing strategy that is supportive to the regional growth and marketing outreach
  • Manage incoming project requests, timelines, deliverables and stakeholder communication. May include activities like:
    • Content brief creation for campaigns managed internally or with external agencies or third parties
    • Event and program execution management
    • Partnering with agency or creative team for digital and OOH asset requests and specifications
    • Partnering with the localization team for any translations
  • Track, measure, and analyze performance across all campaigns and make strategic optimizations to achieve and exceed brand and growth KPIs
    • Contribute to the significant growth of Crunchyroll’s owned digital/awareness footprint in SEA
    • Increase traffic to crunchyroll.com and natural search index ranking
    • Increase fan/customer sentiment and engagement
    • Grow streaming viewership, free-trial starts, and paid subscriptions
  • Continuously develop and contribute to regional processes, marketing and social media best practices, with regular experimentation, research, and professional development; be willing to perform abilities beyond your areas of expertise
  • Close collaboration with the larger Crunchyroll organization, including our in-house digital creative squad, global marketing teams, Sony Pictures Entertainment/Television, Japanese licensors, and external partners

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of marketing campaign experience (budget, concept, planning, integration, reporting)
  • Demonstrated expertise of marketing campaign management and technologies, how to tailor activations to your audiences, and what approaches works best to meet specific marketing or business goals
  • Ability to ⁠liaise with agency in advertising, social media and influencer marketing and strong understanding of social media platforms in the region
  • A proven track record for leading projects and small teams from concept to completion -- and then, from distribution to analysis – you have a test/learn mentality and are maniacal about measurement and optimization
  • Strong time management skills with ability to multitask -- and prioritize -- in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Substantial knowledge of Media/OTT/Anime landscape, pop culture, as well as an understanding of  multicultural communities, will be a major plus
  • Well-organized, can follow-through, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle extensive multi-tasking and meeting multiple deadlines with various internal stakeholders
  • Experienced working with agencies in advertising, social media, influencer marketing and events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to forge positive relationships
  • Strong self starter, solutions-oriented and is a collaborative relationship builder
  • High degree of proficiency with Creative Asset Management systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Required Language: Fluent written and spoken English, other Southeast Asian language is a plus
  • Some regional travel will be required
