In this role, MongoDB is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Payroll Tax Compliance Manager, to join our global tax team. The role will report to the Senior Manager Payroll Tax Compliance and will work closely with the Tax, Human Resources and Payroll Operation Teams based in Ireland and the US, supporting and optimizing payroll tax compliance in conjunction with our rapidly scaling company. Responsibilities:- Act as an advisor to the payroll operations team for all payroll tax related matters
- Operate as a subject matter expert of the payroll tax treatment of compensation & benefits and equity in compliance with global payroll guidance with a particular focus on our APAC countries
- Work with the payroll team to ensure compliance with statutory payroll tax reporting requirements globally
- Proactively advise the business on payroll tax compliance issues and opportunities liaising with external advisors where necessary
- Work closely with HR, Comp & Bens and Payroll teams on continuous process improvement and development to ensure payroll tax compliance
- Partner with the global mobility team on tax aspects associated with globally mobile employees and remote working
- Work with the payroll and stock administration teams to analyze, optimize and automate existing payroll and equity tax compliance and global mobility tracking processes
- Work with the Travel & Expense team to ensure we are meeting all statutory requirements and that expense reimbursements are correctly treated for payroll tax
- Lead on any non standard payroll tax reporting requirements not managed by payroll provider
- Coordinate, monitor and communicate monthly and quarterly payroll tax updates with payroll operations and management
- Communicate and liaison with the tax team and broader finance organization of the financial implications of new legislation and tax exposures
- Independently research and escalate new payroll tax legislation, identifying the reporting requirements, options and associated risks, if any
- Effective collaboration with the People, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, and business units on general payroll, benefits, mobility, equity and compliance and reporting matters with cross functional impact
- Develop and document payroll tax standard and SoX compliant processes
- Lead 3rd party advisor and audit correspondence and resolution
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, tax or business administration
- At least 5 years of employment tax related experience, preferably across a number of APAC countries
- Good knowledge of payroll tax treatment of a variety of employee benefits and expense across APAC region
- Experience working in a global technology company, or having a global technology client, with deep understanding of equity compensation, including restricted stock units, stock options and ESPP
- Understanding of employment tax rules, including regulatory and compliance matters related to expatriate taxes and payroll/employment taxation
- Experience with tax authority payroll audits
- Strong data analysis skills, Alteryx and/or UiPath and advantage
