Manager, Strategic Programs

Okta’s Corporate Development team plays a critical role in enabling Okta’s growth through the thoughtful ideation and execution of corporate strategy, M&A, technology partnerships, external investments, and strategic programs. Sitting underneath the Corporate Development umbrella, our M&A Integration & Strategic Programs team is responsible for end-to-end incubation, governance and execution of Okta’s most strategic, multi-year cross-functional programs and acquisition integrations.

The Manager of Strategic Programs role is an opportunity for a proven strategic operator to manage and influence the strategy of Okta’s highest priority initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Programs, you will lead the planning and execution of cross-functional growth initiatives in collaboration with functional leaders from across the organization. This highly visible role where you will drive program design and business readiness end-to-end while proactively managing challenges as they arise.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex cross-functional projects while maintaining an efficient plan, tracking issues, and proactively communicating progress against program milestones. This person will also need to be adept at building close working relationships and quickly establishing personal credibility across the organization. Given the extremely cross-functional nature of the role, the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a variety of teams and personalities is essential. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Serve as a program lead for Okta’s most important, “too-big-to-fail” strategic initiatives.
  • Shape product / GTM strategies, generate leadership alignment, and help operationalize said strategies across the extended organization.
  • Define the program plan, key milestones, working team leads and success metrics to support company level targets.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment sessions across a diverse set of groups / organizations including Corporate Development, functional SMEs and executive leadership.
  • Monitor program status and rapidly identify issues / risks. Succinctly communicate issues to relevant stakeholders and proactively collaborate to ensure timely resolution.
  • Own tracking and reporting of critical activities for internal consumption across the program team, C-Level leadership and BoD. 
  • Facilitate requirements definition and resource scoping and monitor program budget to ensure adherence to plan.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional meetings. Ensure documentation and communication of decisions / actions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Document learnings and use them to update team playbooks, templates, and best practices.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed in support of strategic initiatives. 

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 4+ years of consulting and / or industry experience with a background in strategy / management consulting, business operations, corporate development, or GTM / Product-centric roles.
  • Practical expertise in enterprise software / B2B SaaS industry. Previous high-growth operations or startup experience is highly desired. Strong technical, business, and finance acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional operational and strategic initiatives. GTM and Product operations experience a major plus.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and collaboration skills across all levels of an organization. Able to convey complex ideas in a strategic and concise fashion.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a portfolio of assignments and drive complex strategic projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Track record of building trusted relationships with cross-functional leaders.
  • High EQ and IQ. Solution oriented, data driven, learning mindset.
  • Embodies trust. Must have high ethical standards and ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts across a wide variety of technologies and domains.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$146,000—$244,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $182,000—$272,000 USD
