At Wayfair Supplier Inventory Management, we partner with thousands of suppliers to maximize customers’ experience. This means driving speed and availability through inventory and positioning strategies with suppliers leveraging Wayfair’s fulfillment services (CastleGate) as well as suppliers’ own supply chain capacities. This role sits at the intersection of our Inventory Management, Category Management, Warehousing, Transportation, and Physical Retail businesses. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is comfortable operating in a fast paced and ambiguous environment to serve as a senior associate for inventory availability & vendor management. This role will partner closely with a portfolio of suppliers to ensure product is in the right place, in the right quantity, at the right time for the Wayfair customer.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Partner with suppliers to grow their business with Wayfair and develop insights to influence their product assortment, production, supply chain, and operations as well as analyze product delivery and supply chain processes to identify or recommend changes. 
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize sales, turns, in-stock rates, and network balance to determine appropriate network design strategy for supplier partners. 
  • Track performance against forecasts to identify and communicate risks and opportunities for the business. 
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses using Excel and internal dashboards to drive decisions. Work cross functionally with multiple teams (Ocean logistics, Engineering, Pricing, Category management, operations, network management, merchandising) to solve business problems, and manage vendor relationships. 
  • Provide active coaching & mentorship of junior team members 
  • Work with senior team members, with a focus on structuring analyses, formulating portfolio strategies, and communicating findings to senior management

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of work experience in E-commerce, Retail and Operations/ logistics/transportation industry preferred
  • Proven experience of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, and synthesize data into consumable formats and bring actionable insights through effective communication
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel/ Google Sheets (including use of Pivot Tables, and complex formulae) to perform deep-dives on supplier performance and translate insights into compelling supplier pitches using Powerpoint / Google Slides
  • Consulting skills to interact with supplier and internal teams; able to flex communication style, persuade, explain, and drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with external executives
  • Experience managing others, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree; studies in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Business Administration, Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, a plus 

 

An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday - Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
