Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a talented, passionate, and proactive Managing Video Editor to join our in-house Post Production Department located in Plantation, FL. You’ll oversee video editors of various experience levels and manage resourcing for the Video Editing team. You must have the experience and prowess to balance a multitude of overlapping and diverse projects, in a fast-paced environment, as the video Post Production team supports all business units, digital channels, and broadcast needs for Chewy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee Video Editors of various experience levels
  • Self-assign projects as needed, setting the quality benchmark for video edited projects
  • Foster growth and structure for all team members
  • Ensure successful execution and delivery of video edited content for multiple business units and digital channels
  • Monitor and manage costs related to freelance video editing
  • Collaborate with peers in Post Production & Studio to contribute to initial conversations about content execution and assignments
  • Manage resourcing for Video Editing, including freelancers
  • Supervise day-to-day Video Editing operations and address issues before escalating to leadership
  • Oversee metadata entry for raw video media to ensure wide searchability
  • Implement policy and workflow changes that drive short-term results and provide input to improve larger processes
  • Partner closely with Post Production team leads to make key project decisions as needed
  • Work on other projects as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of Video Editing experience in a studio or agency environment 
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Deep passion for everything Post - there’s no place you’d rather be than in the thick of it with Editors, Motion Designers, Colorists, and Audio Engineers! 
  • Strong understanding and experience with the Video Editing sphere and their intertwining workflow needs - Assistant Edit, Edit, Motion Graphics, Design, Visual Effects, Color, Audio
  • Prominent experience with an Adobe-house team - Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop - as intertwined with Davinci Resolve and Pro Tools
  • Experience with leading or collaborating with team members across multiple sites
  • Fluent in Post Production asset tech-specs from ingest to delivery
  • Thrive in an ever-developing, fast-paced environment - happy to be flexible and pivot on a dime!

  • Must be a strong people leader, mentor, and be invested in the growth and development of direct and dotted line reports

  • Available to work on weekends and evenings when needed
  • Position may require travel
  • Denote travel expectation 0-10%
