Are you ready to be at the forefront of revolutionizing air mobility? As we embark on the exciting journey towards serial production of our groundbreaking Lilium jet, we are seeking an ambitious and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our world-class propulsion system production team.

As Manufacturing Engineer, Propulsion, you are responsible for ensuring design for manufacture & assembly is implemented to develop, validate, and deliver effective solutions. 

You will work proactively with cross-functional teams like production, engineering, supply chain, planning, quality, procurement, and logistics.

Your Day to Day:

  • Support continuous and smooth production of detail part, sub-assembly, assembly and installation by providing work instructions, MBOM, and design review to ensure design for manufacturing.
  • Support state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing processes with efficient problem-solving, root cause and corrective expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with our Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production Planning, Logistics, and technicians to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Review the design concepts proposed by Engineering, and run manufacturing feasibility studies to ensure design requirements and production volume can be met.
  • Support digital processes set up and implementation for high-volume production logistics, process definition, and planning.
  • Feedback learning from the shop floor to design teams, ensuring updated designs are implement in the next prototyping loop.

About you: 

We are looking for a passionate team player who loves to collaborate to get things done with urgency in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Bringing proven analytical capabilities, you’ll be a strong written and verbal communicator who loves to solve problems. 

Interacting daily with a variety of technical audiences, you will be comfortable working in cross-functional teams, developing and nurturing excellent relationships.

You have demonstrated impact in design for manufacturing activities and will show an eye for simplification, continuous improvement, and consciousness of health & safety factors.

Key requirements:   

  • Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Proven work experience in manufacturing engineering or new product introduction (NPI) in the field of propulsion.
  • CAD know-how desired
  • Experience in aerospace, engine manufacture or precision manufacture involving rotating parts is required
  • Experience in supplier coordination and change management implementation in supplier scope. 
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a drive to challenge the status quo. Eager to learn; puts the team first.
  • Resilient with a passion for achieving mission objectives; uses failure as a learning experience; excellent communicator.
  • Adept at working cross-functionally, especially with Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Program Management, and other cross-business functions.
  • ICT Skills: Microsoft Office, ERP, MES and CAD.
