THE ROLE

Join Pure Storage's Hyperscale Business Unit and step into a high-impact, full-time role focused on ensuring product quality and operational excellence across our cloud storage supply chain. As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you'll be on the cutting edge of flash storage technology, leading quality oversight for servers and flash modules from concept to mass production. This role is your chance to directly influence product integrity, onboard new global partners, and drive manufacturing excellence to ensure the reliability of our hyperscale infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead Manufacturing Quality: Drive end-to-end quality oversight and continuous improvement at all stages of the manufacturing process, from PCBA/SMT and mechanical assembly to final server-level production.
  • Oversee Partner Quality: Partner with our global contract manufacturers and joint-development partners to define and enforce quality assurance procedures, conduct supplier audits, and lead root cause analysis to drive performance improvements.
  • Leverage Data & Automation: Own the integrity of manufacturing data feeds to create real-time quality dashboards and alerts. You will use scripting, primarily Python, to automate QA tasks and accelerate failure triage and resolution.
  • Enable Product Launches: Collaborate closely with Hardware Design and Supply Chain teams to validate new product hardware, guide failure analysis on early issues, and ensure seamless, high-quality product introductions at scale.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Deep expertise in PCBA/SMT, mechanical assembly, or server-level manufacturing, with a strong understanding of components like PCBs, PSUs, and high-density flash drive assemblies.
  • Proficiency in supplier quality methods, including 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA, and a solid understanding of IPC standards and ISO compliance.
  • A proven ability to analyze complex manufacturing data and quality KPIs to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, documentation, and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.#LI-ONSITE
