Your RoleWe're looking for a current university student to join our Marketing team in a role that blends sports data storytelling with marketing analytics. You'll spend your time equally between two exciting areas: unlocking the narratives hidden in our massive sports dataset and exploring how our marketing performance can impact strategy.
Primarily, you'll:
- Uncover compelling sports stories. Dive into data from millions of athletes and teams to find trends, generate insights, and transform complex numbers into clear, compelling narratives for our content and PR teams.
- Research marketing impact. Using our marketing campaign and channel data, you’ll measure effectiveness, report on impact, and provide insights that help inform future marketing decisions.
- Collaborate across teams. You'll work as a bridge between data and strategy, partnering closely with our Marketing, Content and PR teams to support both their needs.
- Make an impact. You won't be on the sidelines. You'll be embedded in our marketing workflow, contributing to high-priority projects that showcase Hudl's unique value and improve our marketing effectiveness.
For this role, we're currently considering candidates who can work from our headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska, with an ideal start date of Sept. 22, 2025.
Must-Haves- Strong SQL skills. You’re proficient in SQL at an intermediate (or higher) level—you’re comfortable writing queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases or data warehouses.
- A current student. You’re pursuing a degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, marketing analytics or a related quantitative field.
- Evaluative mindset. You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate broad questions into specific, answerable data queries.
- Clear communicator. You can effectively explain complex data concepts and the results of your research to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Programming experience. Familiarity with a scripting language used for data analysis, such as Python or R, would be a plus
- Data visualization skills. You’ve used a BI tool like Tableau or Power BI to build insightful dashboards and charts.
- Version control familiarity. You have some experience with Git and GitHub.
- A passion for sports. You're genuinely curious about sports and excited by the opportunity to explore performance data across various levels of play.
- Ask you to make an impact. You're part of the team—that means you'll have real responsibilities. We want to hear what you think and see what you can do.
- Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But even if you’re taking advantage of the opportunity to work remotely, we’ll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.
- Develop your career. On top of working alongside some of the best professionals in the business and gaining real-world experience, we’ll give you extra opportunities like lunch-and-learns and access to curated libraries to round out your internship.
- Support your wellbeing. You’ll have an entire team on your side to give advice and provide answers to your questions, plus more resources like topic-specific Slack channels and employee resource groups. In short, we have you covered.
