Develop next-gen services that will enable fast & real-time predictive analysis of the health of the largest data centers running on the planet. The largest customers on the planet, across the fields of AI Research, Health Care, Financial Services, Government Organizations, Automatives etc run Flashblade for their most demanding and mission critical enterprise storage applications.  

The Software Engineers on the Fleet Reliability Engineering Catalyst team create diagnostic frameworks, software and tools for Diagnosability and Observability. These frameworks empower the customer to self-manage their clusters. It is the team’s responsibility to 

• Develop next-gen services that will enable fast & predictive diagnostics.
• Develop software to protect customers from known issues and help cure anomalies.
• Develop infrastructure for Seamless software upgrades

You will love it on the FlashBlade FRE-Catalyst team if the following excites you:

• Create and maintain services and tools to diagnose and protect the health of an ever growing fleet
• Create next generation proactive and predictive self-healing diagnostic services
• Work with other Engineering teams to develop APIs to accelerate diagnostics on our 600+ compute unit distributed systems with a goal of 30 seconds or less.
• Work closely with the Field facing teams like Support, Escalation, Account teams and Forensics team to understand the customer personas and their challenges to provide engineering solutions.
• Extend the diagnostic services into Internal engineering teams enabling Faster Triages, thereby giving back Developer time
• Acquire a deep understanding of Pure's full software stack.
• Work as a team with smart peers who inspire you and who are inspired by you.
• Regularly present to the larger engineering team as well as executives about complex engineering issues.
• Make customers really happy with our accurate and high speed diagnostics, because customer delight is why we do what we do.
• Learn a ton, whether you know a lot, or nothing about system software.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

You already have a solid background in software development along with experience with linux, system administration, networking, and storage. A history of learning new technologies on the job indicates a strong fit for this role. 

• Ideal candidates will come from strong System Programming and Software Development background. 
• We speak GO, C++, python and linux. What are your languages?
• 9 to 15+ years relevant work experience
• In addition, you may identify with some of the following:

• Natural curiosity, obsessive attention to detail and innate troubleshooting skills
• Passion in bringing whatever it takes to accelerate resolution to customer reported challenges
• Experience with Big Data production environments
• Ability to speak and write without offending unless intended
