Member of Technical Staff
We, at ThoughtSpot, are looking for a Staff Software Engineer - Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for the underlying platform and infrastructure built to power the ThoughtSpot Software/SaaS across multiple clouds and In-Prem. You’ll have the opportunity to advocate and lead big ideas which will have a huge impact on application performance, scalability, availability, and security. You will be part of the team responsible to build, scale, and manage state of the art, geographically distributed Cloud Platform to enable the engineering teams globally.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement platform services which enable ThoughtSpot microservices to meet and exceed our enterprise customers’ evolving demands.
- Help define technical strategy and roadmap eliciting requirements from customers, partners, product management, support, and engineering teams.
- Act as technical lead for delivering new features and experiences working collaboratively with v-team comprising cross-team members and being a role model of our company culture of “Selfless Excellence”.
- Handle direct customer interactions for roadmap planning, product explorations and adoption, and resolution of pain points.
- Mentor and train other engineers to assist with their career growth and improve organization’s capability.
- Continuously look for innovative ways to improve customer experience as well as improve engineers productivity.I Hopping
- Develop reliable and scalable systems used for monitoring, alerting, accessing and administration of production systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, lead incident reviews and root cause analysis of feature and product related issues.
Required Skills / Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing highly reliable, scalable, and high performance distributed systems.
- Well versed with current trends and design patterns for developing systems and services which work seamlessly in private as well as public clouds.
- Experience in developing cluster management infrastructure, distributed storage systems, modern cloud infrastructure, or SaaS, preferred.
- Strong coding skills with 4+ years of experience in modern languages such as C++/GO/Java/Python.
- Strong systems programming skills, and familiarity with Linux kernel internals.
- Hands-on experience with containers and kubernetes is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, algorithmic thinking and computer science fundamentals.
- Experienced in defining strategy and technical roadmap of product components and services.
- Proven ability to lead cross-team projects and mentor junior engineers to deliver high quality features against tight timeline while promoting collaborative environment.
- Bachelor/Masters in Computer Science or equivalent.
