Who We Are:

Wayfair’s Global Merchandising team is responsible for launching and maintaining millions of products, and aims to improve merchandising speed, consistency, and quality at scale.The process operates like a digital factory with a variety of workflows specifically designed to ensure all products meet Wayfair’s high standards. This is a highly visible space at Wayfair as launching products quickly and correctly is a top priority for both suppliers and internal stakeholders. 

 

Role Background: Wayfair has millions of products in our online catalog. These products have nuances that impact how we collect information from suppliers, and merchandise the products on site for customers. This role is responsible for overseeing and improving the merchandising processes for products that require increased attention due to being supplied by multiple different marketplace suppliers, or having many options including different sizes, materials and colors. These products make up a significant and growing percentage of Wayfair revenue and the work this team drives is highly visible across the company, given the impact on supplier and customer experience.  

We partner closely with Data Science and Technology teams for cutting edge operations (including plans to incorporate GenAI to drive further automation). As we continue to scale our workflows, we lean heavily on data to drive decision making and inform operational efficiencies.

What will this role do:

  • Manage specific merchandising workflows and related offshore contractor teams 
  • Monitor operational performance and analyze data at scale; Proactively identify trending issues and work with relevant partners to develop creative and effective solutions with a holistic approach
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with partners across Merchandising, Data Science, Analytics and Technology on joint initiatives and deliverables to build and improve operational workflows 
  • Own and deliver projects end to end taking on ideas at problem statement level with responsibility for discovery, structuring & scoping problems through to delivering the final end product, process, tool or solution
  • Build compelling business cases for change to secure engineering resources to drive automation and enforce tracking of project success against predefined KPIs and metrics

 What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 2+ years of experience in a related field (including technology and business operations, eCommerce) 
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment, with strong project management and operational skills 
  • Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Google suite - familiarity / proficiency with SQL and/or Google Big Query is a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style based on the audience
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively and build trust within the business 
  • Excellent attention to detail, proactively identifying deviations from expectations and driving solutions
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to take on new projects and learn new processes, skills, and technology
