Motion Designer Co-op - January 2025

Program Dates: January 6th, 2025 - June 20th, 2025

*This is a Boston based opportunity with a 4 day in office expectation

What You’ll Do:

  • Animate on site and digital marketing collateral in partnership with our in-house motion, design, and copy teams 
  • Produce work that resonates with our customers, follows our creative guidelines and continues to raise the bar for our brand
  • Participate in collaborative brainstorms, concept development, and presentations with creative peers and cross-functional partners
  • Engage in thoughtful critiques, both responding positively to and offering constructive feedback
  • Interpret needs, objectives, and direction from multiple sources to ensure design concepts meet business goals
  • Be a strong contributor, an organized team player, and willing to pitch in on additional projects 

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in animation, graphic design, visual communication, or related field with a 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Must be returning to the course of study following completion of the Co-op
  • Ability to commit to working 40 hours/week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday) from January 6 to June 20, 2025 in our Boston office
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by Wayfair now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Technical proficiency with After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma a bonus but not mandatory
  • Motion concepting, typography, and visual storytelling skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Top notch creative abilities plus the ability to articulate ideas and opinions
  • Ability to stay organized and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Continual interest in the latest design, art, technology, and current trends

Requirement: To be considered you must submit an animation reel and/or an online portfolio with your application

Wayfair Co-op Program Overview:

Based in Wayfair’s Boston headquarters, our co-op program is a six-month, full-time, paid program that runs twice annually in January to June and July to December. Through the co-op program, students have the opportunity to gain impactful professional experience in their major or career field of interest by fully integrating with Wayfair business units. In addition to exciting project work, Wayfair co-ops have the opportunity to build their professional networks, take advantage of training offerings, and attend social events throughout the program.

Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
