Role: Motion Designer

Location: London, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

 

ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Motion Designer will have a strong background in animation, video editing and graphic design, with the ability to create compelling motion graphics and animated content. The Motion Designer is responsible for creating animated graphics, customer explainer videos, and new video formats using existing footage, as well as animations, brand graphics and subtitles.​ 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

Key Responsibilities:​

Motion Graphics Creation​ 

  • Design and create high-quality motion graphics and animations for various projects, including advertising campaigns, social media content, websites, and presentations.​ 
  • Develop visually engaging customer explainer videos that effectively communicate complex concepts and product features.​ 

Video Editing​ 

  • Use existing footage to create new video formats, ensuring the content aligns with brand guidelines and project objectives.​ 
  • Edit and enhance video footage, adding animations, graphics, and other visual elements to improve overall quality and impact.​ 

​Brand Graphics and Animations​ 

  • Create and animate brand graphics that maintain consistency with the overall visual identity of the brand.​ 
  • Develop and implement motion design elements that enhance the storytelling and visual appeal of the content.​ 

​Subtitles and Accessibility​ 

  • Add subtitles and captions to videos to improve accessibility and ensure content is inclusive for all audiences.​ 
  • Ensure all animated and video content meets accessibility standards and guidelines.​

Collaboration and Communication​ 

  • Work closely with the Creative Services Manager, Art Director, and other team members to develop and execute creative strategies.​ 
  • Collaborate with the Senior Copywriter and the Copywriter to ensure cohesive and integrated visual and written content.​ 
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.

Innovation and Trends​ 

  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies in motion graphics, animation, and video editing.​ 
  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve the quality and impact of motion design work.​
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues.
  • You will contribute towards Oliver’s drive for sustainability and change. We’d hope anyone joining our team would share our motivation to do better in terms of sustainability. We are always learning, so we look forward to you bringing your own creative approaches to the tackling the industry's sustainability problem​.

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Motion Graphics, Animation, Graphic Design, or a related field.​ 
  • 3+ years of experience in motion graphics design or a similar role within an agency or in-house creative department.​ 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of motion graphics, animations, and video projects.​ 
  • Proficiency in motion graphics and video editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other relevant tools.​ 
  • Exceptional animation and design skills, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.​ 
  • Strong conceptual and creative thinking abilities, with a passion for storytelling through motion design.​ 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.​ 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.​ 
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in motion graphics and video content creation.​
