Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Technician Lead at our pharmacy fulfillment center in Pittston, PA! You will have the opportunity to apply your experience to support the fast-paced operations of our multifaceted fulfillment center environment. Additionally, you will develop new and valuable skills and experience in growing world of e-commerce fulfillment operations. This leader will be hands-on with Facilities Technicians and will build and manage relationships across all shifts. This person will be someone who loves change and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day.

Shift: Wednesday- Saturday, 8:00pm - 6:30am

What you will do:

  • You will perform maintenance and repair, housekeeping and plumbing, metal fabrication and carpentry to support our fast-paced fulfillment center operations.
  • Ensure that all fulfillment center equipment is operating properly and ensure a safe working environment for all your fulfillment Team Members.
  • Complete periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility - as assigned and according to schedule.
  • Perform daily inspections of conveyor systems, shipping, and packing equipment areas.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned equipment and associated gear list, reducing loss, damage, and defects to zero.
  • Complete repair order and maintain parts usage records.
  • Solve mechanical and electrical problems, you will visually check, test, and evaluate the condition of components, equipment, and circuits.
  • Follow company procedures.
  • Lead a team of up to 10 hourly facilities associates.
  • Responsible for achieving all facilities goals.
  • Primary POC for P1/P2 issues
  • Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning.
  • Ability to develop and share standard processes across the shifts and network.
  • Create a positive team culture that encourages all employees in the FC to provide feedback and inspire change within the facility, adapt to the ever-evolving business, and stay focused on the customer experience.
  • Use the site CMMS system (Fiix) to optimize perfect PM/CM execution and provide insights to improve overall performance.

  • At least 36 months of previous facility maintenance experience (Mechanics and Maintainers, Construction and Engineering, Aviation and Transportation Repair)
  • Must have electrical experience or understanding.
  • Able to demonstrate electrical knowledge of 24v ac/dc control circuits, 120v power & control circuits, 77v-480v power circuits.
  • Experience using appropriate tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level, with the ability to climb and work at elevations up to 35 feet above floor level.
  • Interest in math, electricity, shop mechanics, electric motors, and appliances
  • Good at solving problems.
  • Understand potential exposure exists to high voltage current, welding equipment, vehicle and equipment lubricants and solvents.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Experience with fire system and fire alarm electronic devices.
  • Ability to read, understand & interpret electrical, pneumatic, & plumbing schematics.
  • Experience with conveyor mechanical systems (belts, drives, tracking valves, VFD motor controllers, motor starters and control cabinet
  • PLC knowledge - input/outputs solving or some programming.
  • HVAC - sophisticated knowledge or experience.
  • Communicate preventative maintenance and repair opportunities to ensure system performance.
  • Can communicate, make sound decisions, and excel under pressure.
  • Recognize problems and repair before breakdown occurs.
  • Proactive problem solving & mechanical proficiency skills.
  • Ability and willingness to train others
