What You Will Be Doing:
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy professional with an analytical background to join the Operations Excellence team. We are looking for a current undergraduate student to start in the Summer of 2024. This role has a duration of 12 months.
As an Operational Excellence Intern, you will:
- Support projects to execute identified opportunities. Proactively update on project progress and escalate risks to the project lead
- Use lean methods and structured problem-solving to identify opportunities and facilitate improvement within the business
- Monitor and report on project-related KPIs, whilst adapting and implementing KPIs appropriately to achieve business goals
- Develop standard documentation to ensure consistent performance across all departments and teams. Continuously improve existing standards and processes to drive operational excellence. Ensure all process documentation created follows defined standards
- Collaborate internally and cross-functionally with other departments, to identify and resolve issues, share best practices and drive continuous improvement across the organisation
- Identify key stakeholders, build and maintain strong working relationships to support project delivery
- Learn tools and systems such as lean, problem solving and performance management with support from leads and managers to drive best practice
- Ensure that all operational processes support the delivery of high-quality products and services to customers

Location: The Windmill, 1 Holme Lane, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7HW
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
