This is a rare opportunity to join an exciting manufacturing business experiencing very significant growth, Butternut Box.

Butternut has big plans for expansion in the near future. As Operations Director, you lead the largest team in the business over (soon to be) multiple geographic locations. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, youā€™ll be accountable for all aspects of our Production and Fulfilment teams, safety, development, standards performance and improvement.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Be a key part of the Senior Leadership Team of both the Operations function and the wider business.
  • Be accountable for all aspects of our Manufacturing and Fulfilment operations in the UK and the planned new site in Poland.
  • Accountable for delivering operational budget/KPIs, including setting and stretching improvement targets whilst creating long-term plans to achieve them. 
  • Identify and deliver improvements to our operational proposition in the key areas of Quality, Delight, Convenience and Choice.
  • The development and delivery of engagement initiatives for our operational teams
  • The development of our operations team includes:
    • Ensuring there are clear succession plans for key roles 
    • Development of a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Promoting and living our values.
  • Development of our operational systems to ensure we benchmark favourably in areas such as food safety, environmental health and safety, diversity and inclusion.
  • Management of change programmes, including but not limited to
    • Capacity increases.
    • Productivity improvement.
    • Energy efficiency improvements.
    • Automation.
